Vintage Utilitarian Every Day English Mottled Brown Pottery Teapot with Metal Cozy. I had two Great Aunts that moved to Seattle from London back in the early 1970s - they always had a teapot similar to this sitting on their kitchen table. The metal dome is insulated and helps keep your tea hot longer (try not to get the inner insulation fabric wet though - it's old enough that it is not colorfast and bleeds color when wet). The only flaw on the teapot is a small nick to the tip of the spout - the cozy has a small discoloration spot, but no dings or dents (see photos #4 & 8). Very minor surface imperfections and flea nips due to age and use. Marked "Made in England" on the bottom. Measures roughly 8" handle to spout and 5.5" tall. I believe this piece dates to roughly 1940-50s.
