    This is a rare pattern COMPLETE TEA SERVING SET of K&A Krautheim Carina China Tea Set in the "Grixella" Grey Rose pattern, which is white with grey rose detail and silver or platinum rim and cup & pot handles, teapot, and sugar bowl lid knob details. It is from the German
    Selb Bavaria
    maker of Franconia Krautheim, and could be considered Demitasse because of size and volume, or what is also called a chocolate set. The shape is very smooth, and features the scroll C handles, and a serpent spout.
    This is considered a 17 piece grouping, including the teapot with lid, creamer, sugar bowl with lid, 6 cups, and 6 saucers. It is in excellent condition, as you can see in pictures. This may appear to be a child's set, but it is much too dainty and breakable to be played with. This is best for display, or occasional use without abuse. Replacement parts would be VERY difficult to find, so be very careful with this when you use it and clean up. Original sets could be purchased with bowls and plates to go along with this style, or it could accompany the dinner service in this style. The dinner service cups are different from these and should not be confused in use.
    There are NO cracks, chips, crazing, smudges, scratches, scuffs, fading, or marks. Colors are holding well. The platinum or silver is holding up well also. This was on display in a home for years. I suggest you hand wash. I would hate to see it ruined in a dishwasher. I provided a dollar bill in the picture for comparison and perspective size.
    The manufacturing status is unknown, but because it is so hard to find, it is most likely discontinued. I cannot even find info on the issue dates for this design and pattern. Yes, this is VERY rare, and place settings have sold for -35 each setting. Individual pieces sell for each minimum that I have found. If you figure each for cup and saucer, and each for the creamer and sugar, as well as for the teapot, that comes out to only 5. Because of the rarity of a COMPLETE SET, I have assessed a value higher than this, as is reflected in the price on this listing.
