Chartreuse Yellow Redware 4 Cup Teapot w 22k Filigree
We are pleased to offer this lovely unmarked redware pottery teapot with bright chartreuse yellow glaze - manufacturer unknown to us - most likely made in Japan. It reminds us of Hall teapots, but they were never made from earthenware or red clay.
It features 22k gold filigree around the top edge and on the foot with vertical ribs/panels on the lower portion of the pot. This 4 cup teapot stands 6-3/4" tall and measures 8-3/4" from handle to spout. It has some very slight crazing from age and a touch of wear on the 22k gold (extremely minor); otherwise it is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. Just a lovely vintage Japanese terracotta Brown Betty Teapot in yellow that you are sure to want to add to your collection.
