P.S. J.H. Stouffer China Chicago, Illinois I have seen reference that they were in existence in early 1900s , Lois Lehner does not make reference to them until 1945 and say that were no longer in business in 1952. Stouffer China was an American decorating firm and a direct competitor of Pickard Studios. It appears that Stouffer Studios specialized in gold glazes and other companies would co-produce their patterns with Stouffer. Stouffer would also use other companies blanks and paint their  own designs on them. The company that produced the blank would have a stamp on the back as would the Stouffer China Company. The backstamp or mark says Stouffer China or Stouffer Fine China.
